Vitamin and Mineral Analytical Testing
We can verify your product’s analytical label claims.
Vitamins and minerals are the micronutrients that our bodies need to stay healthy. Typically, humans acquire these nutrients in their required quantities through the food they eat, or if needed, via supplements. The vitamins that organisms need can be divided into two categories: essential and non-essential vitamins. Essential vitamins are those that an organism cannot produce naturally, requiring an external source to obtain the proper amount for normal metabolic functioning. Non-essential vitamins are those vitamins that the organism still needs, but under normal conditions, can be synthesized by the organism. On the other hand, all minerals are chemical elements that are essential for normal daily function. Minerals are elements found in the environment and cannot be synthesized.
Out of the understanding of human metabolic needs for vitamins and minerals to live healthy lives, an entire multi-billion-dollar industry has been formed: the nutraceutical industry. The FDA is the governmental body that regulates our food and pharmaceutical industries; however, they view the nutraceutical industry as dietary supplements and food additives and therefore have reduced oversight. The result, unfortunately, is that the nutraceutical industry remains mostly unregulated. Out of this environment, scandals and product adulteration has been rampant, leading to public distrust.
At One Bond Laboratories, consumer confidence in your product is our goal. As a third-party tester, we know products contain vitamins and minerals. We can analyze those and verify their presence at the label-stated concentration. Additionally, we can assist with shelf-life verification to confirm that your product is consistent with the label claim.
